기후변화와 에너지 교육, 바른생활먹거리 교육을 연계하여 재밌고 즐겁게 수업을 진행 해 주었습니다.

입동(立冬)을 나흘 앞둔 지난 11월 4일(토요일) 서울환경운동연합이 2015년부터 사회복지공동모금회의 지원을 받아 ‘건강한 친환경 먹거리 나눔을 통한 취약계층 영양개선 사업’의 일환으로 진행 된 ‘2017년 착한냠냠_친환경 산해진미 탐험대’가 바다를 주제로 마지막 탐험지인 경기도 안산 대부도를 다녀왔습니다. 멀리서 보면 섬 같지 않고 큰 언덕처럼 보인다고 하여 부르기 시작한 대부도는 생명이 살아 숨 쉬는 넓은 갯벌과 석양이 아름다운 곳으로 유명한 곳이고 이 때문에 관광지로도 각광받는 곳이기도 합니다.

선감어촌마을에 도착하자마자 어촌마을에 대한 설명을 들은 탐험대원들은 서해에서 채취한 싱싱한 굴을 가지고 만든 굴밥으로 점심을 먹고 숙소인 게르(몽골식 텐트)와 인근 펜션에 짐을 풀었습니다.

잠시 자유 시간을 가진 후 첫 프로그램으로 망둥어 낚시를 하기 위하여 트랙터 버스에 타고 썰물로 물이 빠진 갯벌로 들어갔습니다.

트랙터 버스를 타고 약 15분 정도 들어간 후 망둥어 낚시대를 받고 갯벌 웅덩이에 낚시를 시작한 탐험대원들은 차가운 바닷바람을 맞으면서도 너무 즐거워하였습니다. 이 모습은 경인방송(OBS) 다큐멘터리 팀에서 촬영을 하기도 하였고 자원봉사로 참여하신 이석호 선생님이 인터뷰도 하였습니다.

마을로 돌아온 탐험대원들은 서해안 어촌마을의 특산물이 어리굴젓과 박하지 간장게장 체험을 진행하였습니다. 어리굴젓과 박하지 간장게장을 먹어 본 탐험대원들은 있었지만 만들어지는 모습은 모두 처음 보는 것이라 호기심이 가득 찬 눈빛으로 설명을 들으면 직접 체험하기도 하였습니다.

어리굴젓은 싱싱한 굴을 양념을 하여 젓갈로 만든 다음 오랫동안 먹을 수 있게 만드는 것이고 박하지 간장게장은 흔히 말하는 돌게를 가지고 끓인 간장을 붓고 여러 양념과 재료를 넣어 게장을 만드는 것입니다.

어리굴젓과 박하지 간장게장을 체험한 탐험대원들은 선감어촌마을 탐방을 위해 두터운 옷으로 갈아입고 마을 설명을 해주실 선생님을 따라 이동을 하였습니다. 바다와 갈대밭이 어우러진 마을 풍경과 석양으로 붉게 물들기 시작한 하늘의 모습은 마치 유명한 풍경화처럼 탐험대원들의 눈으로 다가왔고 색다른 풍경에 탐험대원들은 처음 출발 할 때의 불평은 사라지고 멍하니 그 모습을 바라보고 있었습니다.

베이스 캠프인 마을로 돌아온 탐험대원들은 머드를 이용한 비누만들기 시간을 가졌는데 각자 자신이 좋아하는 모양 틀을 가지고자 경쟁을 하였습니다. 선생님의 설명과 도움으로 비누 만들기를 진행하면서 각자 자기가 직접 만든 비누를 부모님 또는 친구들에게 선물한다고 열심히 만들었습니다.

저녁식사가 끝난 뒤 잠시 휴식을 취한 탐험대원들은 운동장에 마련된 캠프파이어를 진행하였습니다. 캠프파이어가 진행되는 동안 탐험대원들이 준비한 장기자랑과 참여 소감 등을 발표하는 시간을 가졌고 캠프파이어가 종료된 후 각자 숙소로 돌아가 간식으로 준비된 조개찜과 준비한 친환경 과자와 음료를 먹으며 선감 어촌마을에서의 첫날 모든 프로그램을 마치고 잠자리에 들었습니다.

다음날 일어나자마자 아침 식사를 마치고 짐 정리를 마친 후 첫 프로그램이자 가장 중요한 프로그램인 갯벌 체험을 위해 분주하게 준비를 하였습니다.

갯벌 체험은 트랙터 버스를 타고 약 30분 정도 떨어진 먼 갯벌에서 진행을 하였습니다. 갯벌에 도착한 탐험대원들은 해설사 선생님의 갯벌에 대하여 교육을 받고 갯벌에 사는 바지락을 캐기 시작하였습니다. 쌀쌀한 날씨 때문에 탐험대원들이 감기에 걸릴까 걱정이 많았지만 오히려 탐험대원들은 땀을 흘리며 이리저리 바지락 캐기와 갯벌을 이리저리 뛰어다니며 즐거워하였습니다.

갯벌 체험을 끝내고 다시 마을로 돌아온 탐험대원들은 샤워를 하고 새 옷으로 갈아입은 후 점심식사로 준비된 바지락 칼국수를 먹으며 자신이 잡은 바지락도 집에 가져가 칼국수 해 먹을 거라면 식당에 있는 선생님들에게 조리법을 묻기도 하였습니다.

바지락 칼국수를 점심 식사로 마친 후 참여 설문조사를 진행 후 대부도 선감 어촌마을에서의 모든 프로그램이 종료되면서 약 4개월간의 2017년 착한냠냠 친환경 산해진미 탐험대 활동도 마무리가 되었습니다. 내년에는 어떤 탐험지 체험과 음식이 기다리고 있을지 지금부터 기대가 됩니다.
