[9월 12일] "사드는 한국을 떠나라!" "사드 반대, 전쟁 반대" 호주 멜버른 미 영사관 앞에서 피켓팅을 하다
9월 8-10일까지 호주 멜버른 에서 "독립이고 평화로운 호주 네트워크" 평화 회의를 가진 평화 활동가들중 15명 가량이 갑작스럽게 정해진 일정에도 불구 9월 12일 비가 오는 가운데 호주 멜버른 미 영사관 앞에서 약 1 시간 가량 한국에서 사드를 철회할 것을 요구하는 피켓팅을 하였습니다. 우리는 특히 미국이 사드 레이다를 중국과 러시아에 가까운 한반도에 도발적으로 설치한 것이 얼마나 치명적으로 전쟁의 위험을 불러일으키는지 공유하였습니다. 마침 중국 여성이 지나가며 우리의 피켓팅 사진을 찍었습니다. 그는 사드를 반대한다 말하였습니다.
또한 동맹이란 이름아래 미국이 동맹국 국민들의 의사와는 상관없이 구축하는 미사 방어망의 위험성에 대해 공유하였습니다. 호주 한가운데 앨리스 스프링스에는 미국의 미사일 방어 시스템의 일환이자 첩보 기지인 파인 갭이 있는데 이 파인 갭은 이제까지도 그랬고 앞으로 한국에서 전쟁이 일어나면 전쟁 기지로서 톡톡히 그 역활을 하게 될 것입니다. 필리핀에서 온 평화 활동가는 위협받고 있는 아시아 태평양 지역의 평화에 대한 우려를 나누었습니다.
우리는 국경을 넘어 우리의 투쟁이 다 연결되어 있을 수 밖에 없음을 공유하였습니다. 우리의 평화 운동에서 한걸음 한걸음 공유의 토대를 쌓아나가는 것이 중요합니다.
10월 7일부터 14일까지 ''사드는 성주애서 물러나라 THAAD OUT of Seongju" "한국에 미사일 방어망 반대 No Missile Defense in Korea" 를 기치로 낸 건 우주평화주가 있습니다. 이 기간에 사람들은 미사일 방어망(우주의 군사화와 긴밀히 연결된)과 관련된 교육, 문화 행사 또는 집회, 시위등을 가집니다. "
함께 힘을 합쳐 기필코 사드를 물러나게 합시다!
[Sept. 12] Peace activists in Australia join Korean's demand "THAAD Out of Korea!" "No WAR!' "No THAAD!" Protest in front of the US Consulate, Melbourne, Australia, @10am, Sept. 12, 2017 After the end of conference on Sept. 10, an urgent protest to THAAD enforced with additional deployment on Sept. 7 in Sosoeng-ri, Seongju, Korea was organized thanks to organizers and friends of IPAN (Independent Peaceful Australia Network). On Sept. 12, about 15 people gathered in front of the US Consulate building in Melbourne, Australia, amid rain. We had the pickets of "No THAAD," "THAAD out of Korea" and "IPAN" banner etc. There was a Chinese woman who took photos of our protest. She said she opposes to THAAD. We shared our concern how critically dangerous is THAAD system enforced in Korea-especially its radar provokingly being installed close to China and Russia. We demanded the THAAD system should be out of Korea and from the world. We also shared about the need of connecting dots of our protests , especially on the missile defense system, the core element of US-led alliance. The Pine Gap in the middle of Australia is a part of US ECHELON system and US-led spy base. It is a part of missile defense system and take a critical role in case of war. A woman activist from the Philippines also shared her concern on the peace of Asia Pacific. There is a Keep Space for Peace Week from Oct. 7 to 14 and we hope you join us during the event. space4peace.org It was wonderful to stand together with these wonderful peace-loving people in Australia.
