UN의 초기 집계에 따르면 차드호 인근 마을인 은기그미(Nguigmi)와 보소(Bosso)에 도착한 숫자는 2만 5000여 명이다. 또한 이 지역의 주도 디파(Diffa)의 임시 시설에는 현재 약 1500명이 있다. </span><br></p><p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Dotum, 돋움, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6666669845581px; line-height: 26.4000015258789px;\">피난을 온 사람들의 상태는 매우 심각하다. 대부분은 소유물을 거의 버리고 며칠을 걸어온 사람들이다. 디파에 있는 국경없는의사회 긴급구호 코디네이터 압달라 후세인은 이렇게 말했다. “이들에게 가장 필요한 것은 식량, 물, 의료 지원, 임시 거처입니다. 이 사람들을 돕기 위해 더 많은 도움이 하루 빨리 이뤄져야 합니다. 지금 이들은 매우 위태로운 상황입니다.” </span></font></p><p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Dotum, 돋움, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6666669845581px; line-height: 26.4000015258789px;\">국경없는의사회는 현재 디파의 임시 수용 시설에서 이 사람들을 돕고 있는 몇 안되는 단체이다. 지난 일요일부터 이곳의 국경없는의사회 팀은 900건이 넘는 진료를 했는데 주로 탈수, 저혈당증, 호흡기 감염이 많았다. 또한 당국과 협의를 거친 뒤에 이미 국경없는의사회가 일하고 있는 디파 시내 병원으로 환자 7명을 이송했으며, 식수와 식량도 제공하고 있다. </span></font></p><p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Dotum, 돋움, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6666669845581px; line-height: 26.4000015258789px;\">은기그미에서는 시내 진료소에서 난민들을 치료했는데, 이곳에서 국경없는의사회는 현재의 위기가 시작된 이래로 보건 당국과 함께 협력해 일해 오고 있다. 또한 현재 피난민들이 모여 있는 2곳인 공항과 키메가나(Kimegana) 임시 정착지에서 기본 의료를 제공하기 시작했다. </span></font></p><p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Dotum, 돋움, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6666669845581px; line-height: 26.4000015258789px;\">국경없는의사회 팀들이 보소 북부 지역에서 구호를 확대할 것을 고려하며 긴급 조사를 진행 중이다. 이 지역에는 5월 초부터 차드호에서 온 새로운 피난민들이 당도하고 있다. </span></font></p><p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Dotum, 돋움, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6666669845581px; line-height: 26.4000015258789px;\">이들 피난민 다수는 이웃한 나이지리아 북부에서 폭력을 피해 이미 도망쳐 온 사람들이다. 5월 3일부터 6일 사이에는 나이지리아인 수천 명이 대형 트럭에 실려 나이지리아 북부로 본국 송환되었다. </span></font></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 14.6666669845581px; line-height: 26.4000015258789px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Dotum, 돋움, sans-serif;\"><b>국경없는의사회는 2014년 12월 이후로 니제르 디파 지역에서 이 지역 주민들 뿐 아니라 나이지리아 북부에서 폭력을 피해 도망친 피난민들을 돕고 있다. 현재는 디파, 은기그미에서 활동하며 디파 시내 모자 보건 진료소를 포함한 진료소 4곳을 지원 중이다. </b></span></p>
