The Korean health and medical workers’ union(KHMU) reached an agreement with the Ministry of Health and Welfare in the early morning of September 2 ahead of the general strike.
As a result, the general strike of the KHMU was withdrawn.
The 13th KHMU-Ministry of Health and Welfare negotiations, which started at 3 pm on September 1, took 11 hours.
The KHMU decided to accept the agreement by holding an emergency National congress in the night time.
The agreement achieved great results in terms of expansion of public health care, establishment of an infectious disease response system, expansion of health and medical personnel, and improvement of treatment.

KHMU held the eve of a general strike in front of the Ministry of Health and Welfare at 6 pm on the 1st. The eve was broadcast live online.
