겨울의 추위가 시작되었던 지난 11월 25일(토요일) 2017년 서울환경운동연합 “김장 체험 및 나눔”행사가 서울환경연합 회화나무 마당에서 있었습니다.

이번 행사는 네이버 해피빈과 신한은행의 지원으로 서울환경운동연합이 기획 및 진행한 행사로 김장재료는 춘천 생기마을에서 생산되는 친환경 배추와 무, 에코생협에서 판매하는 친환경 제품들로 준비되었는데, 친환경 농산물은 환경적 측면에서 재배 시 농약이나 환경호르몬 사용을 제한하기 때문에 소비자들의 건강은 물론 토양오염이나 수질오염을 줄일 수 있으며 유전자 변형 등의 위험으로 부터 벗어나 신선하고 질 좋은 야채를 섭취할 수 있으므로 어린이나 임산부의 건강에 효과적입니다.

김장 행사 당일 날씨가 춥고 눈 또는 비 예보가 있어 걱정이 많았지만 그래도 많은 분들이 참여를 해주셔서 행사가 큰 문제없이 진행이 되었습니다.

많은 양의 배추와 무 등을 보고 당황한 자원봉사자 분들에게 이 김치가 어려운 이웃 분들에게 전달된다는 사실을 알려주자 얼굴에 비장함까지 보이며 열심히 김치를 만들기 시작하였습니다.

김장을 하고 있는 바로 옆에 있는 모닥불에서 맛있게 익은 군고구마가 간식으로 나오자 잠시 언 손을 녹이고자 장갑을 벗고 모닥불로 향하는 분들도 계셨지만 대부분의 분들이 비가 올 줄 모른다는 불안감과 사명감으로 좀 더 속도를 내어 김치를 담그기도 하였습니다.

참여자 들 중 착한 냠냠 프로그램 참여자들과 중앙지역아동센터 아이들도 고사리 같은 손으로 김장 김치를 만들어 김치가 어떻게 만들어지는 것에 대한 체험을 하기도 하였습니다.

드디어 1000Kg이 넘는 김치(약 4000포기)가 완성되고 쌓인 김치를 포장하는 작업도 진행을 하였습니다.

점심으로 돼지고기 수육과 배추국. 즉석에서 싱싱한 굴과 함께 버무린 겉절이를 곁들여 맛있게 나누고 간식으로 귤과 군고구마를 먹으며 꿀 맛 같은 시간을 보내고 정리를 시작하려는 찰라 마치 끝나기를 기다렸다는 듯 비가 쏟아지기 시작하여 비록 행사장과 물품 등을 정리하며 비를 쫄딱 맞았지만 김장할 때 비가 안와 다행이라는 안도감과 뿌듯함이 더해져 모두의 얼굴에 미소가 가득하였습니다.

완성된 김치는 작년과 달리 김치만 전달될 예정이었으나 서울환경연합 회원 한분께서 라면과 즉석 사골국을 후원해주시고 직접 오셔서 자원봉사를 해주셔서 좀 더 풍성한 꾸러미를 만들어 종로구 지역 독거노인 분들과 결손가정 분들에게 전달하였습니다.

행사 전에 눈 또는 비 예보 때문에 걱정을 많이 했는데 김장행사 당일 비록 눈이 오긴 했지만 다행히 행사에 지장을 줄 정도는 아니었고 비도 행사가 다 끝난 다음 와서 하늘과 많은 분들이 도움을 주신 김장 나눔 잔치였습니다. 그리고 친환경 재료만을 사용하여 만들어 우리의 몸과 지구의 오염을 줄일 수 있고 참가자들끼리만 나누는 것이 아니라 주변 이웃과 함께 나누어 먹는 즐거움과 보람을 느낄 수 있었던 시간이었습니다.

인천 섬 아카데미, 해양보호구역 생태탐방체험교육 및 주민과의 대화’ 사업으로\

인천섬 아카데미 교육 5강을 마치고 해양보호구역인 ‘대이작도 생태체험탐방 1차 교육’을

다녀왔습니다.

인천연안여객터미널에서 배를 타고 약 한시간 1시간 10분가량을 달려 도착한 대이작도.

숙소에 도착하자 마자 짐을 내려놓고 대이작도의’부아산’을 등정하면서 배귀재 식물학자에게서 이작도에 서식하고 있는 식물에 대해 강의를 들으며 올라갑니다.

부아산 정상에서 내려다 본 바다는 해무가 살짝 끼어 신비로움을 나타냈습니다.

꽃게로 끊인 맛있는 점심식사를 하고 나서 옹진군에 처음으로 생긴

‘대이작도 생태전시관’을 들려 대이작도를 배경으로 영화를 촬영했던

‘섬마을 선생’을 관람하고 나서 ‘숲길을 따라서’라는 제목으로

배귀재 식물학자의 강의를 들었습니다.

강의가 끝나고 풀등으로 가는 배를 타기 위해 작은풀안 해변으로 이동하여 풀등에 도착~~~

언젠가는 밞을 수 없을지 모르는 모래를 밞기 위해 신발을 벗었으며,

모래위에서 점프도 시도해 보고, 모래사장에 살던 생물도 만나고….

경이로움에 빠져든 풀등 탐사시간이었습니다.

풀등에서 배를 타고 나와서 섬으로 유입되는 해양쓰레기 성상조사 및 정화활동을

하였습니다.

심형진 강사님의 해양쓰레기에 대한 내용을 들으며 심각한 쓰레기 문제에 동감하였습니다.

해수욕장을 개장해서 그런지 쓰레기 양은 많지 않았지만, 스치로풀 쓰레기가 큰 문제였습니다. 잘게 쪼개지면 미세플라스틱의 일부가 되는 쓰레기들….

적은 양이지만 성상조사를 실시하였고, 정화작업을 하여 분리수거함에 넣었습니다.

숙소로 돌아가는 길에 ‘삼신할미약수터’와 ‘이작도 보호수’ 소나무를 보았으며,

섬 사람들의 생활에 대해 생각하는 시간을 가졌습니다.

다음날을 계남리로 가서 ‘섬마을 선생’ 촬영지인 계남분교를 돌아보았습니다.

일정을 마치고 인천으로 돌아오면서 푹푹찌는 폭염속으로 들어 갈 것에

걱정이 되었지만, 해양보호구역 이작도 탐방을 재밌고, 기억에 남게 하는

생태체험탐방교육이었습니다.

공원일몰제의 대응활동으로 인천공원지키기 시민캠페인이

8월 23일부터 매주 수요일 오후 5시부터 7시까지 진행되고 있습니다.

계산역, 중안역, 구월동 로데오거리에서 동시다발적으로 진행되고 있습니다.
