금강한마당은 2013년 7월 금강유역환경청과 금강유역환경회의가 공동으로 발족시킨 금강유역환경포럼이 상생의 유역 공동체, 금강을 주제로 유역 물 환경 보전활동의 우수사례 발굴과 바람직한 유역협력활동을 위하여 2014년 시작하였습니다.

금강보전 실천활동 수질개선 아이디어 발표 및 제안, 금강유역 합리적인 물배분 등의 토론회, 체험 한마당,  기관/단체 수질개선, 환경보전 활동 홍보 부스, 금강보전 실천활동 자료 및 사진 전시 등 다양한 활동이 준비되었습니다.

청주충북환경운동연합은 자투리천을 활용하여 배지, 냉장고 자석을 만드는 ‘폐품공작소’을 운영하였습니다.

4대강사업 심판과 영산강 복원을 촉구한다!

– 오늘은 세계 물의 날. 물과 터전을 지키자는 결의를 재확인 하는 날.

– 물과 강을 회복하고 권력남용이 재발되지 않기 위해 4대강사업을 심판해야.

∘ 오늘은 세계 물의 날이다.

오늘은 물의 소중함을 인식하자는 세계 물의 날이다. 물의 날을 기념해 전 세계가 물을 위협하는 난개발과 남용을 반성하고, 현 세대 만이 아니라 미래 세대를 위해 지속가능한 물을 지켜갈 것을 결의하는 날이다. 어느 누구라도 소외되거나 차별 없이 안전한 물을 공급 받을 수 있어야 한다는 생명권과 인권을 기본으로 하고 있다. 따라서 모든 국가와 정부는 안전하고 지속가능한 물을 보전해야 한다는 엄중한 책무를 재확인 하는 날이기도 하다.

지난 이명박·박근혜 정권은 공공재인 물과 터전을 지켜야 한다는 책무를 져버렸다. 이명박 정권은 국토의 동맥이자 수자원의 보고인 4대강을 막대한 국고와 권력을 남용하여 훼손하였다. 그 결과 매해 반복되는 심각한 녹조, 물고기 떼죽음, 수질악화, 고유생물종 감소와 외래어종 증가, 퇴적오니층 오염 등 부작용이 계속되고 있다. 4대강사업 이후에도 구조물관리와 수질개선명목으로 막대한 국고가 낭비되고 있다. 박근혜 정권은 4대강사업에 대한 검토와 후속 조치를 약속한바 있으나 객관성과 신뢰성을 갖지 못한 채 졸속으로 평가하고 후속조치도 흐지부지하였다. 이명박 정권의 4대강사업 책임에 대한 면죄부를 준 것이다. 그러한 결과로 4대강사업에 대한 부작용을 키우고 있고, 재정 낭비까지 이어지고 있다.

현재 영산강은 흐름을 멈춰, 더 이상 강이 아니다. 강바닥을 파내고 보를 만들어 수량을 늘리면 강(수질)이 살아날 것이라 4대강사업 추진자들은 주장했다. 결과는 반대이다. 강의 지형과

– 흐름을 멈춘 영산강은 더 이상 강이 아니라 호수다. 4대강 복원 계획을 수립하고 단계적 실행을 요구한다.

– 경제논리로 포장하여 물을 사유화 하거나 독점화 하는 것을 멈춰야 한다. 또한 물을 남용하거나 파괴하는 개발을 더 이상 추진해서는 안된다. 친수구역 개발을 멈추고 친수구역활용에 관한 특별법을 폐기해야 한다.
