◯ 광주환경운동연합(공동의장 이정애·이인화·박태규)은 3월 24일(목)~4월 16일(토)동안 영산강유역환경청 앞에서 남영전구 수은누출사고의 신속한 대처를 촉구하는 1인 시위를 릴레이형식으로 실시한다.

◯ 작년 발생된 남영전구 수은누출사고 이후, 대기 중 수은농도가 계속해서 높게 측정됨에도 불구하고 영산강유역환경청은 광주시민의 생명과 안전에 대해 아무런 조치를 취하지 않고 있다. 이번 1인 시위는 영산강유역환경청에 피해대비를 위한 선조치와 사후처리 대책의 신속한 마련과 남영전구 수은누출사고 처리에 대한 과정과 조사결과를 분명하게 밝힐 것을 요구한다.

◯ 3월 24일(목) 오후 4시에 진행된 첫 번째 1인 시위자는 광주환경운동연합 이인화 공동의장(조선대학교 환경공학과 교수)으로, 남영전구인근 높은 대기 중 수은농도를 문제제기 한 바 있다.
