인천에서 생물종다양성을 유지해 지속가능한 도시를 만들기 위한 방법을 모색하는 토론이 이뤄졌다.

24일 인천대학교 송도캠퍼스에서 인천시가 주최하는 ‘2017 제3차 생물 다양성 지역 포럼’이 열렸다. 이 포럼은 중앙 정부와 각 지자체의 생물다양성 보호 사례를 공유, 생태계 중요성을 인식하고 관련 정책 역량을 강화하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

최근 각 지방 정부에서는 생물다양성 보전 및 증진을 위한 계획 수립이 활발하게 이뤄지고 있다. 인천을 포함한 서울과 부산 등은 생물다양성전략 또는 자연환경보전실천계획을 수립했다. 인천은 올해 ‘인천 생물다양성 전략과 실천계획’ 용역을 추진하고 있다.

정부가 정책을 수립하는 한편 인천 NGO(non-governmental organization) 단체는 자발적으로 지역 생태자산을 보전하기 위한 활동을 펼치고 있다.

인천환경운동연합 청소년 소모임 녹색바람은 2011년부터 월 1회 논 습지, 반딧불이 서식여건 조성 모니터링을 하고 있다. 또 인천저어새네트워크는 남동유수지에서 2009년부터 저어새 모니터링뿐만 아니라 학생과 함께 환경 정비도 이어오고 있다.

하지만 이 같은 자연 보전 활동은 시민들의 자발적으로 형태로 이뤄지고 있어 한계도 있다고 지적했다.

김순래 강화도시민연대 생태보전위원장은 “강화도 생태계 보전 활동을 하면서 가장 힘든 게 관심이 부족한 것”이라면서 “또 강화도 내 인구 수와 연령별 구성비 등은 NGO 활동하는 데 있어 제약 요인으로 작용한다”고 말했다.

박흥열 인천지속가능발전협의회 상임회장은 “인천, 경기만 갯벌과 바다를 포함하고 있는 인천은 생물다양성 측면에서 주목해야 할 도시라고 생각 한다”며 “오늘 포럼을 계기로 인천의 생물다양성에 대한 관심을 높이고, 보다 적극적인 정책이 수립되길 바란다”고 말했다.

2017년 인천환경운동연합 8개의 상설위원회중 물위원회가 활동을 시작하였습니다.

만수산에서 시작하여 장수천과 합류하여 소래갯골로 흘러들어가는 만수천 정화활동을 하기로 한 날입니다.

오후 2시에 만수동 태화아파트 앞에서 모여 ‘만삼이네 도룡뇽마을’ 팻말을 지나 만수천 상류부로 들어갔습니다.

만수천 상류는  만월산 터널 공사로 산 출입이 금지될때 도룡뇽들이 알을 낳아 도심에서 도룡뇽 알을 볼 수 있는 곳입니다.

인천환경운동연합 남동구지회 회원분들이 도룡뇽알을 지키기도 하였고, 그 뒤 만수 3동 주민자치센터에서

‘만삼이네 마을’로 정하고 도룡뇽을 보호하고 지키자는 사업을 이어갔습니다.

그 뒤 남동의제 21 사업으로 이어졌고, 지금은 사업을 진행하는 곳이 없어도 시민들 스스로

도뇽룡알을 지키고 보호하는 일에 앞장 설 것이라 생각합니다.

하지만, 산책하는 등산객들이 버린 쓰레기는 여기저기 흩어져 있었고
