환경운동연합(대표 권태선, 박재묵, 장재연)이 7월 16일부터 17일까지 1박 2일간 서울, 경기, 대구, 광주, 부산 등 40여개 지역조직과 환경보건시민센터 등 임원 및 회원 300여명이 경기도 여주 소재 한국노총 중앙교육원에서 전국회원대회를 개최했다. 환경연합 전국회원대회는 2년 마다 개최되는 행사로 환경운동연합이 전국적인 환경 현안을 주제로 개최되었다. 2년 전인 2014년 전국회원대회는 경주에서 탈핵과 월성1호기 폐쇄를 주제로 개최되었다. 이번 전국회원대회는 “같이 숨쉬는 지구, 함께 안전한 세상”이라는 슬로건으로 가습기살균제 참사 이후 각종 화학물질로부터 안전한 세상을 만들자는 주제로 다뤘다. 임종한 교수(인하대, 한국독성학회장)의 ‘우리 생활속의 독성물질은?’, 최예용 소장(환경보건시민센터)의 ‘가습기살균제의 진실과 교훈’, 김은희 박사의 ‘생활속 중금속 수은, 어류, 인체 축적의 사이클’이라는 내용으로 다채로운 생활환경과 관련된 강연회가 개최되었으며, 회원대회 참가자 전원이 가습기살균제참사는 안방의 세월호참사이며, 701명의 가습기살균제참사 사망자를 기리는 7/0/1 숫자를 촛불로 나타내는 퍼포먼스를 진행했다.
